Obituary

Jurnea Amil Stanley, 24 of Little Rock, AR died Monday, January 26, 2026, in Pine Bluff. She was a native of Okinawa, Japan, but a resident of Little Rock and a member of the Greater Galilee Baptist church. Jurnea was enrolled as a graduate student in the Master of Animal Science program at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Rosie Stanley (2025). She was a graduate advisor at UAPB in the school of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Human Sciences. She was a recipient of the USDA 1890 National Scholars award and a Minorities in Agriculture, National Resources, and Related Sciences scholar. Jurnea enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, and listening to music. She loved animals and taking care of them, which was her inspiration to become a veterinarian.

She is survived by her mother, Natasha Stanley of Little Rock, AR, one brother, Damion Stanley of Sacramento, CA, a sister, Salee Stanley of Little Rock, AR, grandfather, Willie Johnson of Hots Springs, AR, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, February 10, 2026, 11:00 AM at Cromwell Funeral Home with Reverend Michael Payne officiating. Pallbearers are William Wilson, Demarco Nicholson, Kaleb Eason, Myles Morton, Keymon Frazier, and Isaiah Robinson. Honorary pallbearers are brother Damion Stanley and Uncles. Burial in St. Martha Cemetery in Wilmot under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
