Mr. Junior Willis, 76 of Wilmot, AR, died Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville, MS. He was a lifelong resident of Ashley County, Parkdale and Wilmot, was a retired farmer and was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Mae Willis, his parents, Tommy & Frances Mae Willis, four brothers, James McPherson, Albert Avery, Frank Moore & Sylvester Cooper and two sisters, Willie Mae Payne & Willie Lee Whitaker. Junior loved western movies, wrestling and playing his harmonica.
He is survived by his significant other of 16 years, Mary Jean Smith, seven sons: Darrell Heard of Gardena, CA, Tommy Lee Willis of Corvellis, OR, Harry Cole, wife Idella of Eudora, AR, Nathaniel Cole of Hawthorne, CA, Ricky Cole, wife Erma of Capitol Heights, MD, Willie Willis, wife Alice of Monticello, AR & Billy Ray Heard, wife Mary of Omaha, NE, five daughters: Julia Gaston, husband Joe & Sandrual Cole all of District Heights, MD, Beverly Heard-Stanley, husband Robert of Wilmot, AR, Frances Mae Willis & Idelle Bell, husband Bruce all of Pine Bluff, AR, fifty-one grandchildren, forty-two great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family friends and loved ones.
Funeral services are Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church with Elder Lee Gaston, officiating. Pallbearers are Jerry Lee Gaston, Robert Stanley, Jr., Jasper Ramey, Billy Kitchen, Leon Washington & Dale Diggs. Honorary pallbearers are Sons & Grandsons. Burial in St. Martha Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
