Mr. Junior Simpson, 77 of Crossett, AR, died Saturday, May 7, 2011 at his residence in Crossett. He was a native of Portland, AR, a former 40 year resident of Chicagon and a resident of Crossett for the last 16 years. He was a retiree of M & M Mars Candy Company in Chicago, IL and was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Lucille Polite Simpson, one sister, Lillie Mae Poe. Mr. Simpson enjoyed riding horses, playing cards, shooting pool, and washing and waxing his cars.


He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Rosie Bryant Simpson, two sons: Robert Bell of Chicago IL, and Earnest Bryant, wife Annie of Crossett, AR, three brothers: Tony Simpson, Reese Simpson, and Gilbert Simpson, two sisters, Sharon Simpson, and Karen Simpson all of San Francisco, CA, nineteen grandchildren, and twenty-three great grandchildren.


Funeral services are Friday, May 13, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Portland #2 Baptist Church with Rev. Cleo Bethea, officiating. Visitation Thursday, May 12, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Pallbearers are Roger Bryant, James C. Polite, Earnest Bryant, Robert Bell, Grady Rush, and Carl Rush. Burial will be in Portland #2 Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
