Obituary

Mrs. Juanita Ruth Gibbs, 72 of Crossett, AR, passed away Friday, May 13, 2016 at her home. She was a native of Hamburg, AR, a resident of Crossett, AR for the past 40 years, a retired Teacher's Aide at Williams Day Care Center and a member of Fudge Chapel Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband Billy Gibbs (September 24, 2014); her parents: Preston and Maxine Burks-Girtman; two sisters: Joyce Thornton and Rosa Mae "Rose" Lincoln; one grandson: Jhirmekeyo Pugh; and one great-grandson: Tremaine Hymes. Juanita was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved cooking, sewing and working crossword puzzle books.

She is survived by one son: Curtis Pugh of Crossett, AR; four daughters: Felissa Gibbs, Faye Williams, husband Marcus, Sandra Lewis, husband Lexie and Senella Gibbs all of Crossett, AR; four brothers: James Girtman of Oakland, CA; Willie Girtman of California; Nathan Girtman and Preston Girtman Jr. both of Crossett, AR; four sisters: Helen Tucker, Carolyn Davis, Melba Wright and Ella Ruth Brown, husband Todd all of Crossett, AR; thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Services are 10:30AM Saturday, May 21, 2016 at New Bethel Baptist Church with Reverend James Green, officiating. Pallbearers are Courtney Hampton, Larry Williams, Undre Stanley, Billy Ray Brown, Johnny Mike Brown and Charles Moore. Burial in Nimmons Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday, May 20, 2016 from 5:30PM-7:00PM at Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc.
