Mrs. Joyce Choate, 60, of Hamburg died Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at her son's home in Hamburg, surrounded by her family and friends.  She was a native of Fairbanks, Alaska, but a resident of Hamburg most of her life.  She was a former restaurant manager at several restaurants in the area, and a member of Rolfe Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Willard Henry Choate, in August 2008; and her father, Cecil "C.L." Stevens.  Joyce was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, camping, and floating the rivers.

She is survived by 2 sons, Christopher Choate, wife Kendra, of Hamburg, and Shawn Choate, wife Ashley, of El Dorado; one daughter, Anna Faye Turner of Hamburg; her mother, Mrs. Faye Stevens of Hamburg; one brother, Terry Stevens of Hamburg; two sisters Linda Worrell, of Crossett, and Jeanette Craig, husband Micky, of Hamburg; 8 grandchildren, Christopher L., Matthew, and Adam Choate, Hope Turner, Jada Hartley Choate, Kadence Carpenter Choate, Hayvin Choate, and Brooklyn Holloway; one great-grandchild, Kayden Choate; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

Service will be Saturday, April 20, 2019, 11:00 A.M., at Rolfe Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Carlton White officiating.  Active Pallbearers are Logan Stevens, Cole Rice, Zach Griffith, Chris Higginbotham, Tanner Rich, and Garrett Ogletree.  Honorary Pallbearer is Benjamin Brooks.  Burial in Egypt Cemetery.
