Mr. Johnny Ray Taylor, 57 of Crossett, AR, died Sunday, December 7, 2008 at the Univ. of Arkansas Medical Center in Little Rock. Mr. Taylor was a lifelong resident of Ashley County, a truck driver and a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents, Buford Taylor & Billie Dove Johnson, three brothers, Billy Joe, Don & Carl Johnson, two sistes, Elizabeth & Nomaner Johnson, two grandchildren & his step-father, Joseph Johnson. He served his country in the US Army.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Vela Sue Biggs Taylor, three sons, Frank, wife Shelly Atkinson of Woodlawn, AR, Johnny Kelley of Nashville, TN & Jason Kelley of Crossett, AR, three step-sons: Keith Blunt of Crossett, AR, Kevin, wife Jennifer Blunt of New Rhodes, LA & Willie, wife Sue Swires of Killen, TX, two daughters, Jessie Frisby & Jennifer, husband Jay Bates of Monticello, AR, one step-daughter, Nonika Swires of Panama City, FL, two foster daughters, Joyce Jones & Betty, husband Patrick Ray all of Crossett, AR, two brothers, James Johnson & Tommy Johnson both of Crossett, Ar, three sisters: Mary, husband Bobby Stephens of El Dorado,AR, LaFran, husband Perry Singleton of Bastrop, LA and Laverne, husband David Carter of Jonesville, AR, twenty-seven grandchildren, and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
Memorial services are Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Lane Baptist Church with Bro. Tim Haas. Remains were cremated.
