Mr. Johnny Mack Brown, 64 of Crossett, AR, died Monday, September 30, 2013 at the Ashley County Medical Center. He was a native of Wilmot, AR, a retiree of Georgia Pacific Plywood Mill and a member of Union Baptist Church, where he served faithfully as a deacon.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents, Willie James & Dora Smith Brown, four brothers, Willie Jr., Lee Edward, Tommy & Calvin Brown and one sister, Janie Mae Robinson. Johnny Mack was a true sports fan. He loved watching football and basketball. His favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed lawn care.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Willie Jean Brown, five sons: Johnny Mack Brown, Jr., wife Carol, Dewayne Bowman, wife Tressia, Burl Shaw, wife Becky and Marquise Turner all of Crossett, AR, Elroy Beverly of Sioux Falls, ND, four daughters: Beverly Turner & Tamiko Gaston of Crossett, AR, Vanessa Moore, husband Jerome of El Dorado, AR and Helen Brown of Collinston, LA, four brothers: Hosey Brown, wife Kathay, Billy Ray Brown, wife Dorothy all of Crossett, AR, Donnie Brown of Pine Bluff, AR, Donald Brown, wife Debra of Eudora, AR, four sisters: Mary McAdoo & Carolyn Stanley of Wilmot, AR, Daisey Stokes of Los Angeles, CA, Gerdie Goodwin, husband Kenneth of Gary, IN, twenty-five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, family and loved ones.
Funeral services are Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Union Baptist Church with Rev. David Green, Rev. Greg Baker, Rev. Jesse Radford and Rev. Murlee Carter officiating. Pallbearers are Larry Goodwin, James Adams, Wayne Carter, Doug Payne, Rahmel King & Barney Lewis. Honorary pallbearers are Perry Johnson, Gordon Kidd, Curtis Boston, Jr., J.T. Harris, Shon Brown, Larry Waters and Cannon Foster. Burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
Visitation Tuesday, October 8, from 6-8 pm at Cromwell Funeral Home.
