Johnnie Clifford Gaston, 73 of Crossett, AR, died Thursday, May 19, 2022, at CHI St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock, AR. He was a lifelong resident of Crossett, a retiree of Georgia-Pacific Extrusion Plant, and a member of Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church.  He was a 1966 graduate of T. W. Daniel High School and received a Bachelor's degree from Philander Smith College.  He was a veteran of the United States Army where he received the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Lois Griffin Gaston, and a sister, Donnie Marie Gaston Gibbs. He enjoyed watching sports and visiting with relatives and friends.

He is survived by one sister, Recania Tucker of Crossett, AR, four nieces, Charmaine Childress of Maumell, AR, Malana McCray of Conway, AR, Jirah Williams and Doctriana Shelby both of Crossett, AR, a nephew, Zachary Gibbs of Crossett, AR.

Funeral service is Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. graveside at Quinn Cemetery with Rev. Bianca Canley officiating.  Pallbearers are Oliver E. Griffin, Spencer Griffin, Freddie C. Griffin, Lee Simpson, Perry Williams, and James L. Childress.  Burial in Quinn Cemetry under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home Inc. of Hamburg, AR.
