John Meade age 71 Dermott died Monday January 30, 2023, at St Vincent Infirmary. He was a lifelong resident of Dermott, and retiree of the United Parcel Service (UPS). He was a member of Brown Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Portland, AR. Mr. Meade loved driving, watching Westerns, and Kung Fu shows. John Meade lived a life filled with love from his family and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Charlene Stubblefield Meade, daughter Veronica Nicole Meade, brothers Clarence Lee "Sonny" Meade and Charles Lee Meade, sisters  Lillian Calloway, Beatrice Brewer, Bernice Meadows, Johnnie Sanders, and Alberta Stapleton.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Aretta Meade, two daughters Dr. Yolaundra Yvonne Meade-Williams of Little Rock, AR and Brooke Leeann Avery of Dermott, AR, a son Johnathan Rashad Meade of Warren, MI, four stepdaughters Whitney Nicole Easterling Baldwin (Edward), Britney Shantel Avery, both of Little Rock, AR, Portia Lasha Heileman (Karlon) of Forney, TX, and Olivia Danielle Avery, sisters Leaster Gardner of Omaha, NA and Brenda Maddox (Davie) both of Dermott, AR, 13 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

The funeral service will be 12 p.m., Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Dermott, AR with Rev. Kentrell Woods officiating. Burial in Portland #2 Cemetery, Portland, AR. Services under the direction the of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
