John H. Johnson, 67 transitioned on January 9, 2025.  He was a native of Wilmot, AR, but a resident of California.  He was born on August 15, 1957 to Haster Brown and Zelma Johnson, Sr. and was the youngest of seven children.  He was an irrigation specialist for the Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation Department for twenty-eight years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Zelma Johnson, Jr., Sammie Johnson, and Ladell Johnson, and two sisters, Martha Johnson Vaughn, and Everlean Johnson.  John enjoyed watching old western movies and listening to jazz and down-home blues.  He was enthusiastic about basketball and was a die-hard fan of the Los Angeles Lakers.  He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather.

His memories will be cherished by his sons, Matthias Reed Johnson and Christian Reed, granddaughters, Arielle, Aaliyah, and Amiaya, his sister, Mary Johnson Riley and husband Bobby, sister-in-love, Rose Johnson, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Memorial services will be held Friday, May 9, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Cromwell Funeral Home Chapel. Honorary pallbearers are Chester Owens, Robert Liggans, Jordan Taylor, Odell Taylor, Greg Walker, and Otis Anthony. Burial in Gospel Temple Cemetery in Wilmot, AR under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, Arkansas.
