Mr. John Henry "Son" Haynes, Jr., age 72, of Crossett, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. Mr. Haynes was a native of Crossett, a veteran of the U.S. Army, a retiree of 32 years with the U.S. Postal Service, and a member of Gates Chapel AME Methodist Church.

Preceded in death by parents, John H. & Mattie Edwards Haynes, one brother, George Willie Haynes, and one sister, Jeannette Haynes William. He is survived by one son Fredrick Haynes of Peoria, AZ, one daughter, Christel V. Haynes of North Ridge, CA, one step-son, Lance Kelly of CA, and three step-daughters, Solitha Brown of North Ridge, CA, June Milan of Pacoima, CA, and April Thomas of Sacramento, CA, and four grandchildren.

Funeral services are Friday, December 19, 2008, 1 p.m. at Gates Chapel AME Church with the Rev. Tyrone Broomfield and Rev. Gregory C. Nettles Officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, December 18, 6 - 7 p.m. at Cromwell Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Lawrence Tucker, Maurice Williams, Tony Allen, James Adam, Ira Jackson, and Donald Flintroy. Interment at Westview Cemetery.
