Mr. John Griffin, 85 of Crossett,Arkansas,died Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Ashley County Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident of Crossett, a retiree of G-P Particle Board, and a member of Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church. He was a Veteran of the United States Army who served during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Dora Lee Colbert Griffin, one brother, Clenia Griffin, three sisters, Beulah Robinson, Merkia Shaw, Artie Hargraves, and Lois Gaston. He loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-three years, Ollie Mae Griffin, three sons, Oliver Eugene (Johelen) Griffin and Spencer Griffin both of Crossett,AR, and Freddie (Bonnie) Griffin of Monticello, AR, two daughters, Merkia Key of Crossett,AR, and Linda Griffin of Little Rock,AR, two brothers, Willie Ed (Eunice) Griffin and Warren (Jewel) Griffin both of Crossett,AR, one sister, Earnestine Bates of Little Rock,AR, five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services are Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church with Rev. Charles Lovett, officiating. Pallbearers are Leslie Tolefree, Thomas Tolefree, Ken Morris, Kenneth Griffin, Michael Scott, and Willie Griffin III. Interment will be in Westview Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
