John Richard David, 79 of Pine Bluff, AR transitioned Friday, September 11, 2026, at his home with family. He was a native of Fountain Hill, AR, a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, and a retiree of the Pine Bluff paper mill. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann White David, two sisters, Alma Barnett and Earlene Miller, and one brother, Billy Ray David. Richard enjoyed watching basketball and fishing. He loved cruising around town.

He is survived by two sons: Gregory David of Pine Bluff, AR and Anthony David of Federal Way, WA, one daughter Loletta Knapp of Flint, MI, four brothers: Rickey David "Connie" of Bay Point, CA, Gregory David "Audrey" of Crossett, AR, Thomas David of Fountain Hill, AR, and Robert David of Monticello, AR; four sisters: Robizine Sawyer and Faye Franklin both of Kansas City, MO; Mary Williams of Montgomery, AL, and Dorothy David of Los Angeles, CA, seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Cromwell Funeral Home Chapel under the direction of Minister Marilyn Wilson. Pallbearers are Greg David, Calvin Miller, Antonio Massey, Anthony David, Marcus Miller, and Ronald Wilson, Jr. Burial will be at Lacey Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
