Joe Nathan Lee, Sr., age 87 of Crossett, died Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Drew Memorial Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Crossett.  He was a retired machinist of Penn Trucking & Body Company and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War and a member of Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Lee is preceded in death by one daughter, Beverly Jefferson; his parents, Robert and Celia Matthews-Lee; one sister, Millie Ann Lee and a son in law, Dwight A. Hudspeth.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Varia Jean Averitt-Lee; one son, Joe Nathan Lee, Jr. (Trainette) of DeSoto, TX; three daughters, Brenda Banks of Stone Mountain, GA, Bonnie Houston (David) of Aliceville, AL, Brenetta Hudspeth of Monticello, AR; one brother, Lawrence Lee of Oakland, CA; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and one brother in law, Glenn Fudge (Delois)

Services are 11:00AM on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church in West Crossett with Rev. Walter Witherspoon and Rev. Murlee Carter officiating. Pallbearers are David Houston, David Houston, Jr., Tarrence Houston, Sr., Tarrence Houston, Jr. Clarence Brooks, Sr., Brandon Jackson, Joe Lee, Jr. and Cameron Lee.  Burial in Westview Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5:30PM-7:00PM Friday, November 3 ^rd at Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church.
