Mr. Joe Nathan Hicks, 53 of Little Rock, AR, died Sunday, March 24, 2013 at John H. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital. He was a native of Portland, AR, was raised in Dermott, AR, had resided in Milwaukee, WI, Memphis, TN, and currently had lived in Little Rock for the past three years. He was a former factory laborer and served his country in the United States Army.

Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William & Clara Carolina, and his paternal grandparents, Earl & Lillie Hicks. He enjoyed cooking, watching sports, especially football, and talking to family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of three years, Novella Caldwell Hicks, his step-son, Tarence Caldwell of Milwaukee, WI, his father, Nathan Hicks of Kenosha, WI, his mother, Evelyn Cleary of Dermott, AR, three sisters, Patricia Simmons, husband Ronald of Killeen, TX, Patricia Hicks of Kenosha, WI, Carlene Hicks of Greenville, MS and a host of other family, loved ones and friends.

Funeral services are Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Cromwell Funeral Home with Eld. Ray Woods, officiating. Pallbearers are Jimmy Joe Brown, Eric Moseby, Edwin Moseby, Larry Jones, Lee Edward Plummer & Raymond Block. Honorary pallbearer is Trey Carolina. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
