Mr. Joe Lee Harvey, 83, of Portland, AR, died Monday, June 22, 2020 at his home in Portland.  He was a life-long resident of Portland, a retiree of the Akon Box Company, and a member of New Light Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by one son, Anthony Harvey; and his parents, Otis and Leola Willie-Harvey.  Joe enjoyed fishing, telling his jokes, and sitting around with his friends.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Jessie Mae Harvey; four sons, Marvin Harvey, Alfred Kelly, Greg Kelly, all of Chicago, IL, and Bruce Washington, of McGehee, AR; three daughters, Jozette Harvey-Williams, husband Fredrick, Elsie Mae Kelly, both of Chicago, IL, and Patrice Matheney, of Portland, AR; four brothers, Otis Harvey, Jr., wife Terrie, Andrew Harvey, Lee Wayne Harvey, wife Fran, and Otis Harvey III, wife Barbara, all of Chicago, IL; six sisters, Jeanie Harvey, Nancy Harvey, Hazel Harvey, Rosie Harvey, Ella Mae Burrell, husband Carl, all of Chicago, IL, and JoAnn Harvey, of Crossett, AR; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Funeral service will be Friday, July 3, 2020, 11 a.m., on the Campus of New Light Baptist Church, 620 2 ^ND Avenue Portland, AR, with Rev. Jessie Washington officiating.  Active Pallbearers are Charles Bynum, Lee Otis Bell, Jonathan Webb, Kevin Woods, Darrell Woods, and David Robinson.  Burial in Portland #2 Cemetery.

Viewing will be Thursday, July 2, 2020, 1-5:00 p.m. at Cromwell Funeral Home.
