Obituary

Joan Rogers, 79 of Anna, Texas, formerly of Chicago, Illinois, departed this life on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at her home. She was a native of Crossett, Arkansas, and a retired executive secretary for Stroger Cook County Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Joan united with New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church at an early age, she would later unite with St. Edmond's Catholic Church of Chicago. She was a 1963 graduate of T. W. Daniel School and a graduate of Philander Smith College.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Pearline Rogers; sisters, Mary Earnestine Moore and Ruby Jean Francis; brothers, Richard Rogers III, George Mitchell, Willie, and William Moore. She was an outgoing, warm, and loving person who enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and photography.

Her loving and fond memories will be cherished by her daughter; Camiesa Rogers of Anna, Texas; granddaughter that she raised, Nyasha Simone Rogers of Chicago, Illinois; sisters, Doris Cromwell (Willie) of Crossett, Arkansas, Kayla Wright and Sheila Moore of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Brenda Webb of Fairview Heights, Illinois; brothers, Larry Rogers (Lois Jean) of Crossett, Arkansas, Roy Moore (Janice), Gary Moore (Alicia), and Raymond Moore (Michelle) all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Tommy Moore (Karen) of Crossett, Arkansas, and Johnny Moore (Cynthia) of North Little Rock, Arkansas; sister in law, Lois Mitchell of Darien, Illinois; goddaughter, Yasha Louden-Barnes of Conway, Arkansas, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral service is Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Crossett with Rev. Michelangelo Watkins and Rev. Jesse Radford, Jr. officiating. Pallbearers are Bernard Martin, Ronald Rogers, Larry Taylor, Mario Brown, Fredie Hargraves, and Normane Martin. Honorary Pallbearers the Class of 1963. Burial in Westview Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, Arkansas.

Service will be live streamed on YouTube New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
