Mrs. Jessie Bell Woods Shelton, 82 of Wilmot, AR, died Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village, AR. She was a lifelong resident of Hamburg and Wilmot, a homemaker and a member of Westside C.O.G.I.C. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bonnie "Kirk" & Betty Waters Woods, three sisters: Ora Bell Woods, Willie Mae Daniels and Rachel Kimble, ten brothers: S.W., Lee Edward, Lindsey, Johnny, David, Jimmy L., James, Barney, Arthur and Nathan Woods and two half-brothers: Joseph & Benny Woods. She served as secretary and treasurer for her church. Mrs. Shelton was a devoted wife, mother and friend to all whose life she touched, she loved to cook.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Mr. Hue D. Shelton, three sons, Hughie Shelton, wife Lena of Victorville, CA, Herbert Shelton, wife Lila and Gary Shelton, wife Shirley all of Wilmot, AR, one daughter, Renee Whitaker, husband Chris of Wilmot, AR, a grandson she raised as her son, Randall Shelton, wife Sharunn of Pine Bluff, AR, one brother, John "Bill" Woods of Little Rock, AR, one sister, Mable Shinn, husband Johnnie of Little Rock, AR, seventeen grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a host on nieces,nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services are Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church with Eld. Edward Gaston, officiating. Visitation Friday, August 17 from 6-8 pm at Cromwell Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Billy Kitchen, Jerry Gaston, Andrew Metcalf, William Lewis, Steven Brooks, John Metcalf, Albert Bass and Jimmy Bass. Burial in Harris Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
