Streeter
April 2, 1928 – August 29, 2020
Mrs. Jessie Mae Streeter, 92, of Crossett, AR transitioned to her heavenly home on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at the home of Donald and Blanch Streeter, where she was surrounded by the love of her family. She was the daughter of the late Gracie Talbert Sims McCallister and Leslie Reese. Mrs. Streeter was a lifelong resident of Ashley County, a member of Gates Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, and a retired cafeteria worker and paraprofessional from the Crossett School District.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Eugene Streeter; two sons, Danny and Michael Streeter; one step-son, Bobby Moore; two sisters, Bennie Sims and Evelyn Sims Fuller; and two brothers, James Sims and Laurence McCallister. Sister Streeter was an exceptionally loving and nurturing mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a real lady who set the standard for the way Christian women should carry themselves. She served in the PTA and Band Parents' Association when her children were in school. She was also a member of the CTA for the Support Service Personnel and AEA. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, playing dominoes, solving crossword puzzles, and loved watching all sports in person or on television.
Sister Streeter is survived by three sons, Donald Streeter (Blanch), of Crossett, AR, Charles Streeter (Diana), of Los Angeles, CA, and Eddy Streeter (Janice) of Pine Bluff, AR; step-children, James Jackson (Alma), of Pine Bluff, AR, and Shirley Wade, of Crossett, AR; daughter-in-law, Marian Streeter, of Stockton, CA; sister-in-law, Louisa Streeter Brown, of Los Angeles, CA; Goddaughter, Shirley Knox, of San Leandro, CA; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Graveside service will be Saturday, September 5, 2020, 2:00 p.m., at Westview Cemetery with Rev. Harriel D. White , III officiating. Honorary Pallbearers are Jemar Streeter, Jermaine Streeter, James Jackson, Donald Streeter, Charles Streeter, Eddy Streeter, Ronald Watson, Greg Watson, Leslie Streeter, and Danny Streeter, Jr.
A walk through viewing will be Friday, September 4, 2020, 1-5:00 p.m., at Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc.
