Mr. Jessie James Lowe, 82, of Crossett, AR died Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at his residence. He was a lifelong resident of Crossett, a retiree of Georgia Pacific Paper Mill shipping and receiving department, a member of First Baptist Church, a 33 rd degree Mason, and a member of Exodus Lodge Number 403.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James "Billy" and Evie Battle-Lowe. Mr. Lowe served over 40 years as a Deacon at First Baptist Church on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive in Crossett. He was a member of Crossett Reunion Club, an associate member of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Alumni Club and a member of the Blue Buck Hunting Club for many years. While attending high school, he was highly active in sports, he taught swimming lessons in his early years. He served as director of the Sr. choir and director of the Singing Union #3. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Emogene Wallace-Lowe; one son, Victor Lowe (Sharon), of Pine Bluff, AR; one daughter, Sheryl Lowe-Wade, of Pine Bluff, AR; two brothers, Michael Jordan of Oakland, CA and Jimmy Earl Jordan of Dallas, TX; five sisters, Debra Lowe-Barnes, of Crossett, AR, Ethel Smith, of Bastrop, LA, Louise Thurman, husband Sam, of Houston, TX, Lexi Oliver, of Kansas City, KS and Johnnie Marie Mattis, husband Willie, of Rayville, LA; two grandchildren, Fredrick O'Neal Wade and Callie Janean Wade; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Graveside Service will be Saturday, October 3, 2020, 11 a.m., at Westview Cemetery with Rev. Curtis Jackson, Sr. officiating. Active Pallbearers are Larry Dawson, Tony Allen, Bobby Dale Jackson, Glen Newton, Lloyd Collins, and Bryan Dallas. Honorary Pallbearers are members of the Exodus Lodge Number 403, T.W. Daniels class of 1956, First Baptist Church Sr. Choir, Crossett Reunion Club, Singing Union #3, and University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Alumni Club.
Walk through viewing will be Friday, October 2, 2020, 1-5:00 p.m., at Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc.
