Rev. Jessie James Jones Sr., age 68, of Lake Village, AR passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Chicot Memorial Medical Center in Lake Village. He was a lifelong resident of Lake Village, a Baptist Minister, a retired Construction Worker, and a member of Seven Star Missionary Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland Mac and Dallas Mae Martin-Jones, four sisters, Louvenia Martin, Gladys Martin, Edna Jackson, Clara Shannon, two grandchildren, Jaliyah Jones and Mytesha Akbar. Rev. Jones enjoyed singing in the choir and preaching was the highlight of his life. He enjoyed watching basketball and football; his favorite teams were the L.A. Lakers and Dallas Cowboys.

He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife of 45 years, Murlean Kennedy-Jones, five sons: Richard Moore wife LaJill, Jessie Jones, Jr. wife Tijuan, Rodrick Dewayne Jones all of Lake Village, AR; Donald Ray Jones of Little Rock, AR; Vincent Jones of Hot Springs, AR; three daughters: Linda Johnson husband Antoine, Letesha Jones husband Antonio all of Lake Village, AR; Patricia Jones fiancée Kelvin of Little Rock, AR; four brothers: Troy Moody of Lake Village, AR; Jeff Holmes, Neva Martin, and Robert Jackson all of Chicago, IL; two sisters: Troystine Jones of Iowa and Betty Jackson of Chicago, IL; two godsons: Freddie Revels wife Doris of Montrose, AR; Willie Revels of Austin, TX; two goddaughters: Easter Walker of Lake Village, AR; Sa'niah Hamilton of Little Rock, AR; thirty-six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Services will be held 2:00PM Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Seven Star Missionary Baptist Church, 612 Sgt. Thomas Armour Street, Lake Village, AR 71653 with Rev. L.B. Brown, officiating. Pallbearers are Antoine Johnson, Ricky Rone, Barry Rone, Alfred Boyd, Kenny Rone, Antonio Mondragon, Lee Franklin, and Earl Glass. Honorary Pallbearers are Jerry Martin, Leroy Stoneville, Melvin Davies, Emmie Jackson Jr., Willie McJoy Jr., and Heath Wilburn. Burial in New Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 7, 2017 from 5:00PM-6:30PM at Seven Star Missionary Baptist Church.
