Jessie Mae Chatman, age 62 of Lake Village, died Friday, September 22, 2017 at her residence in Lake Village. Mrs. Chatman was a native of Montrose but a resident of Lake Village for the past four years. She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Peter Baptist Church in Montrose. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Chatman; her parents, Clarence and Annie Cotton-Dawson; three brothers, Clarence, Jr., L.C. and Robert Lee Dawson. Jessie was a devoted mother who enjoyed family time and fishing.
She is survived by three sons, Ronnie Dawson and James Dawson, both of Hot Springs. AR, Adam Dawson (Carolyn) of Horn Lake, MS; one daughter, Barbara Dawson of Montrose, AR; two brothers, James Dawson (Ruby) of Chicago, IL, Booker T. Dawson of Jackson, MS; two sisters, Viola Dawson of Chicago, IL and Vera Dawson of Montrose, AR; fourteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
Services will be 11:00AM Saturday, September 30, at St. Peter Baptist Church in Montrose with the Rev. David Owens officiating. Pallbearers are Nick Curtis, Roderick Williams, Lenny Woods, Johnny Fields, Floyd Jones and Boyd Brown, Jr. Burial will be in the Montrose Cemetery.
