Mr. Jesse Starling, Sr., 68 of Burlington, IA, died Friday, March 20, 2015. He was a native of Crossett, AR, a retired financial analyst for IBM, a member of Faith Temple C.O.G.I.C. He was a US Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam Conflict. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal & the Good Conduct Medal.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Geneva & Fred Starling, one brother Rocky Hunter and one sister, Ava Hunter.
Survivors include one son, Jesse Starling, Jr., wife Angela of Minneapolis, MN, two daughters, Rhonda Johnson, husband Terry of Rockford, IL, Sherlene Ali, husband Farrad of St. Louis, MO, his step-mother, Stella Starling of Crossett, AR, two brothers, Fred Starling, Jr., wife Vivienne of Burlington, IA & Bernard Hunter of Buffalo, NY, one sister, Bertha Brown of Burlington, IA, twelve grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
Funeral services are Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 12:00 pm at Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Murlee Carter, officiating. Burial in Siloam Cemetery.
