Obituary

Mr. Jerry Allen Hawkins, 60, of Crossett, died Friday, December 25, 2009, at John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado. He was a life-long resident of Crossett, a member of the Camp Ground A.M.E. Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Preston Hawkins, Sr, one brother, Franklin D. Hawkins, one sister, Audrey Hughes. He is survived by four sons, Reggie Hawkins & wife, Latoya, Maurice Hawkins all of Chicago, IL, Antoine Brown of Greenville, SC, & Brian Hawkins of Crossett, four daughters, Lesia Rucker of Las Vegas, NV, Shanna Stroud & husband, Kevin, of Crossett, Shantel Love of Chambersburg, PA, Valencia Hawkins of Crossett, his mother, Juanita "Nita" Hawkins of Crossett, two brothers, Preston Hawkins, Jr. & wife, Edith, of Crossett, and Clifton Hawkins & wife, Erma, of Hamburg, four sisters, Martha Hendrix of Chicago, IL, Ruby Hubbard & husband, Freddy, of Little Rock, Thelma Hawkins & Eula Hawkins both of Crossett, and 16 grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 30, 6-7 p.m. at Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral services will be Thursday, 1 p.m., at Gates Chapel A.M.E. Church with Rev. Karal Hammock officiating. Pallbearers are Larry Martin, Terry Taylor, Billy Allen, Larry Rogers, Eddie Hawkins, & Zack Gibbs. Honorary pallbearers are the Crooked Creek Hunting Club, T.W. High School 'Class of 67', Plez Rance, Curt Harris, Freddy Hubbard, & Travis Haynes. Burial will follow at Carlock Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc.
