Mrs. Jerlene Griffin, age 84, of Taylor, AR formerly of Crossett, AR passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Springhill Medical Center in Springhill, LA. She was a native of Hamburg, AR but lived most of her life in Crossett, a homemaker, and a member of Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Warren Griffin, Jr. (Aug. 2015), her parents, Hunter and Mittie Mae Yarbrough-Gilbert, one brother, Hunter Fred Gilbert, three sisters, Tretha Collins, Elizabeth Girtman and Clara Mae Durley. Mrs. Griffin enjoyed reading and working with the youth in her church.

She is survived by one daughter, Donova Lajetta McDaniel of Cullen, LA; two brothers, Lurel Gilbert of Akron, OH; Curtis Terry Gilbert wife Sarah of Arkansas City, AR; three sisters: Linda Mateen, Gerry Millings husband Norman all of Akron, OH, Nancy Gilbert of Cleveland, OH; two granddaughters: Danielle Milano husband Ramon of Pineville, LA; Dia Johnson husband John of Bossier City, LA, four great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Services will be held 11:00AM Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church, 1935 Hwy 133 N, Crossett, AR 71635 with Rev. Marvin Scott, officiating. Pallbearers are Freddie Griffin, Donzell Griffin, Jimmy Griffin, Eugene Griffin, Dennis Girtman and Cornelius Girtman, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers are Curtis Gilbert and Curtis Gilbert II. Burial in Quinn Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 23, 2016 from 5:00PM- 6:00PM at Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc.
