Ramey
January 9, 1965 – September 18, 2020
Mr. Jasper Ramey, 55, of Wilmot, AR died Friday, September 18, 2020, at Ashley County Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident of Wilmot, a machine operator at a garment factory, and was of the Church of God in Christ faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buford Sr. and Mable L. Smith-Ramey; two brothers, Nathanial Ramey and Jacque Vann; and one sister, Hazel Martin. Jasper was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing, football, basketball, track, and working on vehicles.
He is survived by two daughters, Alexis Moore, Jacasia Ramey , both of Wilmot, AR and Kyyisha Moseby, of Conway, AR; his companion for over 20 years, Kim Smith; nine brothers, Buford (Bennie)Ramey, Jr., Robbie Ramey, and Troy (Joan) Ramey, all of Milwaukee, WI, Jessie (Anita) Bell, of Hemet, CA, Mark (Loretta) Ramey, of Belton, MO, Frank and Clyde Ramey, both of Wilmot, AR, Tracy (Ramonda) Vann, of Crossett, AR, and Larry Wilder, of Portland, AR; four sisters, Henry Mae Bethea , of Crossett, AR, Mable (Charles) Ramey-Moore of Kansas City, MO, Evelyn (Ronald) Bailey, of Little Rock, AR and Nancy (Eddie) Holloman, of Pine Bluff, AR; three very dear cousins, Pearlie Ramey, Joan Abson, and Faye Gathings; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Graveside service will be Saturday, September 26, 2020, 11 a.m., on the grounds of Union Baptist Church, 305 S. Church Street Wilmot, AR, with Bishop Ronald Bailey officiating. Pallbearers are Anthony Raino, Wayne Sherrer, James Penn, Sidney Sherrer, Bennie Diggs, Willie C. Sherrer, Aurelio Bethea, and Lorin Gathings. Burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Wilmot.
Visitation will be Friday, September 25, 2020, 5:30-7:00 p.m. at Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc.
