James Michael
Williams
January 11, 1955 – May 22, 2023
Mr. James Michael "Mike" Williams, age 68 died Monday May 22, 2023, at his home. He was a native of Milwaukee, WI., but became a resident of Crossett as a young child after the passing of his mother. He was a member of Gates Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church and a Crossett High School graduate of 1973. Mr. Williams was a licensed master plumber, a job he continued to do until his death. He was known to be an opinionated person and highly intelligent. He enjoyed cooking and grilling, but his passion was for keeping the streets of the city of Crossett clean. On any given day Mike could be seen picking up litter and debris in his community. He was so diligent in his efforts to keep the neighborhoods clean that a former mayor of Crossett recognized him for his hard work. He loved his daughters and grandchildren. They were the love of his life.
Mr. Williams was preceded in death by a son Tremainye Robinson, his parents Joseph and Jeanette Haynes Williams, maternal grandparents that raised him John Henry and Mattie "Doll" Haynes, brothers Joseph Williams Jr., and Donny Williams.
He leaves to cherish his memories two daughters Koreanna "KJ" Williams Forster husband Justin of Collierville, TN., Chandra Watson of Eldorado, AR., a brother Curtis Williams wife Kathy of St Helen, SC., three sisters Shirley Givhan, Renee Qualls husband Joe, Diane Green husband Nathaniel all of Milwaukee, WI., special great uncle and aunt Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Haynes of Belzoni, MS., special nieces Veverly Williams-Randall husband Freddie and Briauna Williams both of Houston, TX., and a host of other relatives and friends.
