Mr. James Olen Scales, age 68, of Atchison, KS passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at his residence. He is a native of Lake Village, AR and a former resident of Hamburg, AR for many years.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Fred Scales, his mother, Ollie V. McQuay-Fowler and one brother, Fred Scales. He was affectionately known as Chief, was always well dressed and his shoes were always shined and other people would ask him to shine their shoes.

He is survived by one brother, Jesse R. Scales, one sister, Thomesa Scales-Campbell and host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Services will be held Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Cromwell Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Mary D. Arnold, officiating. Pallbearers are Curtis Tolliver, Jr.,  Ricky Davis, Fredrick Simpson, Brandon Campbell, Jesse Scales, Jr. and Brian Guy.
