Mr. James Harvey Pamplin, 75, of Hamburg, AR died Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Aime Hospice Care in Shreveport, LA. He is a native of Jerome, AR, a retired truck driver, and of the Baptist Faith.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Margie Evon-Pamplin, on March 23, 2018; his parents, Frank and Louise Gregory-Pamplin; four brothers, Robert, Roger, William, and Sonny Pamplin; one sister, Betty Sue Ward. James was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved his work driving trucks, enjoyed Nascar racing, watching old Western movies, and football. His favorite team was the New Orleans Saints.
He is survived by eight sons, Luke Pamplin (Kim) of Baywood, LA, Dean Pamplin (Mary) of Little Rock, AR, Houston, James,and John Pamplin, and JR(James) Bergeron, all of Hamburg; Donald Bergeron of Thibodaux, LA, and James Kuhu of Decaptur, IL; four daughters, Crystal Hitt (Charles) of Raceland, LA, Brenda Ricks (James) of Russellville, AR, Stacey Pamplin of Hamburg, AR, and Clarissa Parks (Junior) of Crossett, AR; two sisters, Mary Helen Walters (Sammy) of Hamburg, AR, and Earline Tabor (Jimmy) of Labadieville, LA; one brother Wayne Houston Pamplin of Hamburg, AR; twenty-four grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren.
Services will be Sunday, September 9, 2018, at 2:00PM, at Cromwell Funeral Home Chapel in Hamburg with Bro. Carlton White officiating. Active Pallbearers are Michael Harris, JR Bergeron, Houston Pamplin, Ronald Wayne Jones, Charles Hitt, Wayne Pamplin, Jr., Shane Harris, and James Ricks. Honorary Pallbearers are Luke Pamplin and James Pamplin. Burial will be at Carlock Cemetery in Pine Hill Community near Hamburg.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 5:30PM-7:30PM at Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc. in Hamburg.
