Obituary

James E. Martin, 72 of Crossett, AR died Thursday, August 27, 2020 at his residence.  He was a lifelong resident of Crossett, a G-P Paper Mill retiree, a member of Hunters Chapel Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, and a U. S. Army veteran serving during the Viet Nam Conflict.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Atelbert 'A D' Martin and Versie McGee Martin; one brother, Freddie Martin, and one sister Diane Martin.

James was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching sports, bowling and especially playing dominoes.  He was a member of the Superstars softball team and the Crooked Creek Hunting Club.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Felicia Martin; two sons, Keith Martin wife Shawnda of Crossett, AR and James Martin Jr. of Rockville, MD; one daughter, Phyllis Martin of Crossett, AR; two step-sons, Marlin Williams of Dallas, TX, and Demarcus Smith wife Miranda of Hamburg, AR; four brothers, Ray Charles Martin wife Debra and Danny Martin wife Savannah both of Crossett, AR,  Curtis Martin wife Jennifer and Larry Martin wife Vera both of Hamburg, AR, two sisters, Marilyn Lewis husband Carl of Little Rock, AR and Charlotte Thrower of Chicago, IL, thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Westview Cemetery with Prophet Quinton Radford officiating.  Pallbearers are Tommy Moore, Shun Keith, Bernard Martin, Robert King, Dwight Lewis, and Rodney Randolph.    Honorary pallbearers are grandsons and nephews.

A walk- through visitation will be Friday, September 4, 2020 1:00-5:00 P.M. at Cromwell Funeral Home.
