James Junior Harden, age 53, passed away Monday, July 5, 2021 at Lake Village, AR. He was a native of Lake Village, AR. He was a member of Pleasant Hope Missionary Baptist Church. He worked in the roofing business and at Oakley Grain Inc for years.

He is preceded in death by his parents James Harden and Dorothy Washington Harden; two sisters Tessie Freeman and Sheila Harden; grand-mother Alice Williams; and a nephew Edward Freeman.

James enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved telling jokes, fishing, and playing cards and dominoes. He was a bright soul who brought much love and happiness to all he encountered. James had a special bond with his nieces and nephews. He was a joy to be around and was always willing to help anyone he could.

He is survived by four sisters Valerie Harden, Cynthia Taylor, Doris Jones (Chris) all of Lake Village, AR, Linda Gantt Brown (Melvin) of Dermott, AR; seven nieces Fatima, Terricka, Jaleesa, Sinead, Jonessa, Courtney, and Deondra; five nephews Tamarus, Ladarian, Donte, Edward, and Phillip: two special friends George Kirkendolph and Matthew Thompson; and a host of other family members and friends.

Funeral Services Saturday, July 17, 2021 1:00 p.m. at Central Baptist Church in Lake Village, AR with Rev. Arthur Haney officiating. Pallbearers Bill Russell, Robert James, Otis Forrest, Jaylee Haylee, Tarrell Morris, and Matthew Thompson. Honorary Pallbearers Tamarus Taylor, Ladarian Taylor, Chris Jr., Edward Lewis, Philip Freeman, and Tim Dunbar.

Burial to follow at New Cemetery in Lake Village, AR.
