James Edward Gibbs, 77 of Crossett, AR died Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. He was a native of Hamburg, AR and resident of Crossett for many years. He was a disabled Crossett Georgia Pacific Plywood Mill employee and a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Lovie Gibbs, three brothers, Linburg, Billy, and Elvin D. Gibbs, two sisters, Elena Davis and Erma Hawkins. James served as a taxi service for anyone in need of a ride. He loved his family, going to church and listening to music.

He is survived by his three sons, Theodore Edward Gibbs wife Tia of Orlando, FL, Charles Anthony Gibbs wife Shanette of Dallas, TX, and Michael Edward Gibbs wife Brooke of Benton, AR, two brothers, Richard Gibbs of Hamburg, AR, and Sherman Gibbs of Crossett, AR, one sister, Vickie Scott husband Michael of Crossett, an uncle Leonard Gibbs, Jr, wife Jean of Crossett, AR, other family members, and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Holly Springs Baptist Church at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Jesse Radford, Jr. officiating. Burial at Carlock Cemetery. Arrangements made by Cromwell Funeral Home Inc., of Hamburg, AR.
