James "Bear" Johnson, 82, died Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at his resident in Crossett, Arkansas. He was a native of Lake Providence, Louisiana but a resident of Crossett most of his life.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Mae Johnson, daughter, LaJetta Johnson, parents, Willie and Gertrude Brown Johnson

He is survived by five sons, Tony Johnson of Memphis, TN, Rickey Johnson and James Johnson both of Crossett, AR, Carl Smith of Forth Worth, TX, and Antoine Johnson of Hamburg, AR, one daughter, Lillian Powell husband Warren of Richmond, CA and caregivers Donnie Burns whom he stayed with, Carl and Edwards Miles all of Crossett, AR, eleven grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Cromwell Funeral Home Chapel in Hamburg, AR with Rev. Derrick Evan and Rev. Donald Foster officiating. Pallbearers are Chris Sims, Brian Miles, Michael Scott, Harvey Duke, Columbus Washington, and Elbert Ray Gibbs.
