Mrs. Jacqueline Laverne Miller, also known as "Fat Momma" to her family and friends, 64, of Crossett, AR died Sunday, November 11, 2018, at her home in Crossett. She was a lifelong resident of Crossett and a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Amos Miller; her parents, Eugene and Carrie B. Newton; one sister, Patricia Ann Newton; and one brother, Raymond Newton. Jackie was a loving mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. She enjoyed being around her family and friends. She served as chairman of the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church kitchen Ministry. She enjoyed cooking and working in her flower garden.
She is survived by three sons, Derrell Newton(Chasity), Damon Johnson, and Dwight Johnson(Shante), all of Crossett; four brothers, Norman Newton, Herman Newton(Toyce), Danny Newton, all of Crossett, AR, and Waymond Newton(Pamela), of Monroe, LA; five sisters, Flora Bea Rowe(Frank), of Texarkana, TX, Dorothy Cann, of Dallas, TX, Beatrice Jasper(Bobby), Karen Moore(Tommy), and Christie Lindsey(Corey), all of Crossett, AR; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
Service will be Friday, November 16, 2018, 2:30 P.M., at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Tyrone Broomfield and Pastor Jesse Radford officiating. Active Pallbearers are Zachary Collins, Mark Newton, Rodrick Newton, Byron Jasper, Charles Cann, and Tommy Moore Jr. Honorary Pallbearers are the New Bethel Kitchen Ministry. Burial in West View Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc. of Hamburg.
