June 9, 1954 – April 1, 2020
Mr. Houston Wayne Pamplin, 65, of Hamburg, AR died Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at his home. He was a native of Amite, LA, but a resident of Ashley County for the past 50 years, a retiree of Georgia Pacific Plywood Mill after 27 years of service, and of the Baptist Faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank H. and Johnnie Louise Gregory-Pamplin; five brothers, Johnnie Frank, Roger, Robert, William, and James Pamplin; and one sister, Betty Sue Ward. Houston was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his family and was called "G2" by his grandchildren. He enjoyed woodwork.
He is survived by his wife of 18 months, Mary Arretta Walton-Pamplin; two son, Steven Wayne Pamplin, wife Jessica, of Merdian, MS and Albert Wayne Holloway, wife Crystal, of Crossett, AR; one step-son, Clifton Murphy, wife Renea, of Hamburg, AR; two step-daughters, Tracy Valle, husband Silvo, of Lancaster, SC and Teresa Huff, husband Nick, of Hamburg, AR; two sisters, Earline Tabor, husband, Jimmy, of Labadieville, LA and Mary Helen Walters, husband, Sammy, of Hamburg, AR; 7 granddaughters, Libby and Abby Pamplin, Vna Soria, Jessica and Jerrica Murphy, Elisbeth Garay, and Brianna Huff; 8 grandsons, Esteban Garay, Travis and Steven Huff, Landon and Earnest Murphy, Adain Valle, Gabin Valle, Rudee Chavez, and Raymond Chavez; 4 great-grandchildren, Reagen Sellers, Natlie Sorria, Rafael Chavez, and Rozalia Chavez; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Graveside service will be Friday, April 3, 2020, 2:30 p.m., at Crossroads Cemetery, with Bro. Carlton White officiating. Honorary Pallbearers are Travis Huff, JR Bergeron, Steven Huff, Clifton Murphy, Esteban Garay, and Nick Huff.
Cromwell Funeral Home will follow DCD precautions during this Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Visitations and funerals will be limited to 10 people. We ask that you practice social distancing. We are committed to safely caring for our families and staff.
