Mr. Hosie Heard, "Snapper", 77 of Hamburg, AR, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Belle View Estates Rehabilitation & Care in Monticello. He was a retired timber worker and a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Lowe Heard, one daughter, Debbie Sue Heard, his parents, Isaiah & Mattie Jankis Heard and two sisters, Lee Bertha & Clara Mae Heard. Snapper enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes and talking with his friends.

He is survived by three sons: Barron Johnson, wife Oneka of Hamburg, AR, Kevin & Bruce Heard both of Detroit, MI, one daughter, Shelby Woods, husband Henry of Jasper, TX, two brothers, Bobby Dale & Sam Dean Heard both of Dallas, TX, three sisters: Ruthell Pugh & Eugene McConnell both of Homer, LA, Minnie Mae Heard of Washington, DC, nineteen grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, loved ones and friends.

Funeral services are Monday, June 10, 2013 at 11:00 am at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Willie R. Taylor, officiating. Active pallbearers are James Prewitt, Lawrence Booker, Roy Bridges, Ray Watson, Lawrence Tippie and Robert Thompson. Honorary pallbearers are Jessie Banks, Walter Jenkins & Adolphus Foster.
