Lemons
January 1, 1933 – March 17, 2018
Hoover Lemons, age 85 of Crossett, AR died Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Life Touch Hospice Facility in El Dorado, AR. He was born January 1, 1933 in Wilmot, AR to the late Gabe and Lula Mae Alford-Lemons. He spent most of his childhood in Mer Rouge, LA then moved to Crossett, AR in his early twenties. He was a retired timber worker and a faithful member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church where he sang in the men's choir until his health prevented him to serve. Hoover enjoyed landscaping, cooking, watching sports and old western movies. He never met a stranger and was well known in his community by everyone.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gabe and Lula Mae Alford-Lemons; one brother, Richmond Mays and one sister, Iveria Jones.
Hoover leaves to cherish his precious memories, his wife of 45 years, Earlie B. Franklin-Lemons; two step daughters, Sidney Carthon and Tamara Burks, both of Lewisville, TX; two grandchildren, Jessica Carthon of Baltimore, MD and Taylor Burks of Lewisville, TX and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
Services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, March 23, 2018 at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Jesse Radford officiating. Pallbearers are Billy Taylor, James Webb, Don Franklin, Anthony Mays, DeWayne Norwood and Don Foster. Burial in Westview Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-7:00PM on Thursday at Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc.
