Mrs. Hertha Peters, 64 of Sandy Hook, MS, formerly of Portland, AR, died Thursday, March 5, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Peters was of Arkansas, but a resident of Sandy Hook, MS for the past 2 years, a homemaker, and a Baptist. She was preceded on death by her parents, Monroe Barnes & Cora Williams, one brother, James Curtis "J.C." Wade and two sisters, Sophia Barnes & Robizene Holmes.

She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Excell Peters, three brothers: Duncan Wade of Little Rock, AR, Cesley Barnes of Flint, MI & Lamon Barnes of Milwaukee, WI, three sisters: Olere Hughes & Georgia Johnson both of Little Rock, AR & Bertha Wade of Milwaukee, WI and a host of other relatives and loved ones.

Services are Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Portland #2 Baptist with Rev. Eugene Mitchell, officiating. Pallbearers are nephews. Burial in Portland #2 Cemetery.
