Mrs. Helen Fisher, age 79, of Fountain Hill, died Tuesday, January 6, at Drew Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Fisher was a member of Bethel AME Church, a member of the choir, a member of the Order of Eastern Stars Golden Star Chapter 380 of Fountain Hill, served as past worthy matron, and a member of the Womens Missionary Society.
She was preceded in death by husband, Venollie Fisher; daughter, Wanda Jean Fisher; parents, Virgel Lee & Verta Martin Miller; two sisters, Annette Redman and Rozell Duckworth; brother, Napolean Miller. She is survived by three sons, Johnny and wife, Lettie Fisher, of Chester, TX; Venollie and wife, Fannie Fisher, of Banks, AR, & Vernon and wife, Debra Fisher, of Hamburg; three daughters, Janice Fisher of Monticello, Loretta Woods of Fountain Hill, & Georgia Hill Thompson of Lawerenceville, GA; four brothers, Lee Morris Miller and Raymos Miller, all of Toledo, OH; Clinton Miller of Gardenia, CA; Amos and wife, Jacqueline Miller, of Crossett; five sisters, Marie Daniels of Fountain Hill, Geneva Tribbett of Toledo, OH, Claudell Goree of Crossett, Sarah Collins of Detroit, MI, and Annie Curtis of Chicago, IL, 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are Saturday, January 10, 2:30 p.m., Bethel AME Church in Fountain Hill with the Rev. Chris Goodman officiating. Visitation will be Friday 6 - 8 p.m. at Cromwell Funeral Home Chapel. Pallbearers are Vernon Fisher, Jr., Eric Woods, Milton Johnson, Jr., Antonio Fisher, Bobby Hill II, Kedric Woods. Honorary pallbearers are Golden Star Chapter 380 Fountain Hill, Doyle Lambert, Walter Fry, Dexter Thomas, Douglas Thomas, Rev. Jes Graves. Burial will be in the Union Ridge Cemetery in Monticello under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home.
