Harry James Polite, 71 of Pine Bluff, AR transitioned Monday April 6, 2026, at Hospice Home Care Pine Bluff. He was a native of Portland, AR and a member of McGhee Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Polite was a retiree of Eudora Garment Factory and a member of the Ziff Masonic Lodge #119.

He was preceded in death by five brothers: John Matthews, Henry Polite, Jr, Willie Polite, Jessie Ross, and Robert Earl Matthews; two sisters: Geneva Woods and Margaret Scott, and his parents: Henry Polite and Arnetta Bryant Washington. Harry affectionately known as "Shy Guy" by his family and friends loved going to church and served as an usher at Brown Temple Missionary Baptist church for several years.

He is survived by four brothers: Sammie Polite and wife Ella of Portland, AR, Corey Polite of Waynesboro, MS, Gabriel Polite and wife Alice of Little Rock, AR, and Tommy Lee Curl of Pine Bluff, AR; one sister: Josephine Polite of Dermott, AR; a special niece: Vernestine Holmes, a host of other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Funeral Services will be Thursday April 16, 2026, at Brown Temple Missionary Baptist Church #2 in Portland, AR at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Leroy Hood officiating. Pallbearers are Marcus Johnson, Mychael Wade, Landrell Woods, Corey Polite, Larry Woods, Jr., and Bruce Washington. Burial in Portland #2 Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc of Hamburg, AR.
