Ms. Gwendolyn Ann Franklin, age 59, of Montrose, AR, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. She was a lifelong resident of Montrose, Social Activist and a member of St. Peters Baptist Church in Montrose.

She is preceded in death by her parents George Frank and Carrie B. Harrison-Slade, one brother, McDavis Slade, one sister, Florial Jean Slade-Wilson (January 2016). Ms. Franklin enjoyed cooking, reading, quilting, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memories one son: Adrian Franklin, wife Rhonda of Melbourne, AU; one daughter: Andrea Franklin, husband Tim of Columbia, SC; two brothers: George F. Slade, Jr., Billy Slade both of Milwaukee, WI; two sisters: Marie Leazer of Milwaukee, WI; Betty Ramsey of Rancine, WI; two grandchildren: Jaden Wesley, Ella Wesley both of Columbia, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Services are 11:00AM Saturday, September 10, 2016 at St. Peters Baptist Church, 938 Market Street, Montrose, AR 71658 with Elias Ramsey, officiating. Pallbearers are Andrew Woods, Linnie Woods, James Bell Jr., Tim Wesley, Michael Slade, William Woods Jr. and Charles Bynum. Burial in Montrose Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 9, 2016 from 5:30PM-7:30PM at Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc.
