Obituary

Mrs. Gloria Jean Kitchen, 69, of Wilmot, AR died Sunday, April 12, 2020, at her home in Wilmot.  She was a native of East Point, GA, but a resident of Wilmot for the past 8 years, a former resident of Little Rock, a computer tech, and a member of the African Hebrews Israelites of Jerusalem.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie Thomas and Olivia Henderson-Hanes; and a great granddaughter, Chloe Ballard.  Gloria was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister, who enjoyed cooking, sewing, painting and drawing.  When she resided in Little Rock she owned and operated the only Vegan restaurant in the state of Arkansas.

She is survived by husband of 16 years, Theodis Kitchen, of Wilmot, AR; a son, Dewitt Sheats III, wife Phyllcia, of College Park, GA; a daughter, Melanie Ballard, husband Craig, of Pulaski, IL; one brother, Larry Hanes, wife Jane, of Lithonia, GA; four sisters, Delores Thomas, of Wilmot, AR, Dorothy Underwood, husband Larry, of College Park, GA, Cynthia Hanes, of Kennesaw, GA, and Lisa Shockley, of Conyers, GA; eight grandchildren, one great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

A private graveside service will be Friday, April 17, 2020, 11 a.m., at Gospel Temple Cemetery in Wilmot, AR with Bro. Tommy Shelton officiating.

Cromwell Funeral Home will follow CDC precautions during this Coronovirus (COVID-19) pandemic.  Visitations and funeral will be limited to 10 people.  We ask that you practice social distancing.  We are committed to safely caring for our families and staff.
