Geraldine Mitchell's Obituary
Mrs. Geraldine Curtis Mitchell, 80 of Montrose, AR, died Wednesday, April 02, 2014 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, AR. She was a lifelong resident of Ashley County, a homemaker and was a member of Unity Temple C.O.G.I. C.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Mitchell, Sr., one son, James Mitchell, one daughter, Rosie Geraldine Branch, her parents, Johnny and Maud Phillips Curtis, two sisters, Julia Golden & Irene Hoskins, two brothers, James Wardell Curtis and Johnny Curtis, Jr.
She is survived by seven sons: Freddie Mitchell, wife JoAnn of Theodore, AL, Jesse Mitchell, Sr., wife Alice of Montrose, AR, Eddie Mitchell, Sr., wife Lisa of San Antonio, TX, Tilon Mitchell, Sr., wife Jeanette , Edmond Mitchell, Brandon Mitchell, wife Shaneka all of Portland, OR, Gregory Gillis of Montrose, AR, nine daughters: Fannie Mitchell of St. Louis, MO, Mary Wilson-Horsley of Fort Worth, TX, Corine Mitchell of Montrose, AR, Alice Watts, husband Harold Sr. of Little Rock, AR, Maud Ruth, husband James of Chicago, IL, Dell Henry, husband James of Little Rock, AR, Sylvia Williams, husband Michael of San Antonio, TX, Katina Evans, husband Steven and Brenda Hargraves both of Portland, OR, two brothers, Ray Curtis, wife Cassidy of McGehee, AR, Elbert Bonner of Dermott, AR, two sisters, Wadie Curl of Pine Bluff, AR, Jeanette Smith-Evans, husband Johnny of Arlington, TX, forty-five grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends. Funeral services are Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 1109 School Street, Dermott, AR with Eld. Johnnie Winfield, officiating. Active pallbearers are Louis Wade, Willie Williams, Leo Griggs, Ervin G. Brown, Charles Bynum, Charles Woods and Donovan Peoples. Honorary pallbearers are William Woods, Sr., Herman Curtis, Thomas Sanders, Jr., Steve Phifer and Harold Moore. Burial in Montrose Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.Visitation Friday, April 4, 2014 from 6-8 pm at Cromwell Funeral Home.
