Mr. George Parker, 78 of Crossett, AR died Monday, July 19, 2010 at Ashley County Medical Center. He was a native of Wilmot, AR but a resident of Crossett for the past 59 years. He was a retiree of Georgia Pacific Plywood Mill and a member of Davis Memorial COGIC.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Ollie Mae Parker; two sons: George Parker Jr. and Gregory Parker; one daughter: Shirley Ann Parker; his parents: Miley and Delia Riley Parker; one brother: Wardell Parker; five sisters: Estella Dunning, Annie Tate, Earnestine Kitchen, Louise Diggs, and Mable Lanier; and one grandson: Sonwello Lewis.
He is survived by three sons: Larry Keith, Ronnie Parker and wife Cheryl, and Rickey Parker all of Crossett, AR; five daughters: Debra Parker Moore, Evelyn Parker Tate, Hazel Parker, Judy Parker, and LaTekia Parker all of Crossett, AR; twenty-nine grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 4:00 P.M. at Davis Memorial COGIC in Crossett, AR with Supt. Roy Matheney officiating. Pallbearers are Elias Duncan, Tyrone Moore, David Dupree, Jemario Tate, Jamal Watson, and Regginald Martin. Honorary pallbearers are Cedric Keith, Terrance Green, Alfred Olive, Shawn Keith, Jeremy Davis, Detarious Lewis, Sonwello Lewis Jr., and Darius Chatman. Interment will be at Westview Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
