Mr. Gary Rex Harris, 73 of Hamburg, AR, died Saturday, June 20, 2009 at his residence in Hamburg. Mr. Harris was a lifelong resident of Ashley County, a retired deputy sheriff, and a member of Hollis Chapel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Jackson & Vera Brent Harris, four brothers: J.W., Doug, Glenn & Bob Harris and one sister, Earnestine Goza. He served his country in the US Army, and was a former mason.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Grace Haris, three sons: Russell (Karen) Harris of West Monroe, LA, Randall Harris of Hamburg, AR & Rayland Eugene Whitehead of Crossett, AR, one daughter, Sandra Lynn Herron of Hamburg, AR, one sister, Kathleen Wooten of Hamburg, AR, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are Monday, June 22, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Hollis Chapel Baptist Church with Bro. Lawrence Amos & Bro. Willis Doss, officiating. Visitation Sunday, June 21, 2009 from 6-8 PM at Cromwell Funeral Home. Pallbearers are John, Eddie, Steve and Nathan Wooten, Tommy Wells & Scott Harper. Burial in Hollis Chapel Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
