Rev. Evandrew Washington, 62 of El Dorado, AR died Monday, November 15, 2010 at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. He was native of Crossett, AR but a resident of El Dorado. He was a retired Highway Inspector. He was the Pastor of First Baptist Church for 21 years, President of the Crossett Ministerial Alliance, Past Moderator of the Southeast District Congress of Christian Education, Instructor at the United Theological Seminary, and an Instructor at the YWCA. Rev. Washington loved preaching, playing golf, and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents: James and Janie Bell Washington and his twin brother Loandrew Washington.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years: Sue Robinson Washington of El Dorado, AR: one son: Evandrew Washington, Jr. and wife Uche of Fayetteville, NC; two daughters: Toni Bradley and husband Thomas of El Dorado, AR and Heather Walls and husband Brian of Shreveport, LA; two sisters: Norma Jean Thompson of Crossett, AR and Doris Johnson of Fresno, CA; eight grandchildren, one goddaughter Angela Childress, a special sister-in-law: Carolyn McClleland, a special cousin: Sue Williams, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 1:00P.M. at First Baptist Church in Crossett with Rev. Billy G. Williams officiating. Active pallbearers are James Adams, Tony Allen, Donald Baldwin, George Brown, Larry Dawson, Jesse Lowe, Glen Newton, and Marcileno Reed. Honorary pallbearers are the Crossett Ministerial Alliance and the T. W. Daniel Class of 1966. Visitation will be Friday, November 19, 2010 from 6:00-8:00P.M. at First Baptist Church in Crossett. Entombment will be at Arlington Memorial Park in El Dorado, AR under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home in Hamburg.
