Eugene Downs, better known as "Twenty-Two", age 84 of Hamburg, died Saturday, December 09, 2017 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. He was a native of Rayville, LA, a retired logger and a member of Emanuel Church of God in Christ.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Henry Downs and Eugene Downs, Jr.; his parents, James and Willie Ward-Downs; brother, Frank Brooks and two sisters, Alma Brooks and Ada Rhone. 'Twenty-Two' loved people.  He loved socializing, telling jokes and making people laugh.

Mr. Downs is survived by three sons, Timmy Downs (Roxie) of Hamburg, AR, Earnest Downs (Dorothy) of Little Rock, AR and Jimmy Downs of Lake Village, AR; four daughters, Nicole Segurio (Gary) of Tallahassee, FL, Natalie Williams (Frank) of New Orleans, LA, Diane Keith (John) of Atlanta, GA and Linda Downs of Little Rock, AR; nineteen grandchildren and thirty-eight great grandchildren.

Funeral Services are 1:00 Friday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Hamburg with Bishop Danny Mays officiating. Burial in Johnson Memorial Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Robert Stanley, Glen Stanley, Dan Smith, Lashawn Smith, Stanley Martin, Josh Downs, Timmy Downs, Jr. and John Ware.  Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00-6:00PM at Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc.
