April 8, 1957 – August 29, 2020
Mrs. Erma Jean Grant-Cole, 63, of Riverdale, Maryland died Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Medstar Washington Hospital Center. She was a native of Wilmot, AR and a member of Cornerstone Church of God in Christ in Hillcrest Height, Maryland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ricky Cole, Sr. in January 2019; her mother, Eula V. Tharp-Bankston in December 2018 and her father, J.R. Smith; her stepfather, Ordell Bankston; three brothers, James, Fred, and Curtis Ray Bankston; and one sister, Pearline Bankston-Parker. Mrs. Grant was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking for her family, shopping and watching reality tv shows.
She is survived by five sons, Jawaski Grant, of Monroe, LA, Carnell Grant, of Houston, TX, Ricky Cole, Jr., of York, PA, Tabian Cole, and William Holmes, wife Candyse, both of Los Angeles, CA; one daughter, Rickishia Green, husband Anthony, of York, PA; two brothers, Norman Grant, wife Norma, and Alfred Pace, wife Elaine, both of Santa Rosa, CA; four sisters, Lillie Bankston, of Little Rock, AR, Melvin Armstrong, husband, Cecil, of Greenbrier, AR, Betty Jean Grant-Cape, husband Anthony, of Santa Rosa, CA, and Sandra Fowler, husband Vincent, of Grandview, MO; seventeen grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Graveside service will be Saturday, September 12, 2020, 11:00 a.m., at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Wilmot, AR with Rev. Albert Fenceroy officiating. Honorary Pallbearers are Patrick Cape, Vincent Fowler, Cecil Armstrong, Cleveland Parker, Ricky Cole, Jr., Anthony Green, Jawaski Grant, Carnell Grant, Dekevious Fowler, Traveion Fowler, Norman Grant, and Alfred Pace.
Visitation will be Friday, September 11, 2020, 4:30-6:30 p.m., at Cromwell Funeral Home.
