Lowe
April 6, 1939 – November 22, 2025
Mrs. Emogene Lowe, 86 of Crossett, AR transitioned Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. She was a native of Urbana, AR but a resident of Crossett for most of her life and was a retired school teacher of thirty-three years. Mrs. Lowe was a member of First Baptist Church where she served as musician and senior choir director. She was also a member of Silver Star #306 Order of Eastern Star, P.H.A., Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, a founding member of the Women's Progressive Club, a member of the Crossett Reunion Club, and an original member of the Martin Luther King, Jr Observance Committee. Emogene worked in the Southeast District Baptist Association for more than forty years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years, Jessie James Lowe, parents Reverend Woodrow Wallace and Callie Mae McMurrian Wallace, four brothers Bobby Row Wallace, Woodrow Wallace, Jr., Moses Wallace, and Amos Wallace, one sister Ella Mae Wallace, and one grandson Monty Lowe.
Mrs. Lowe loved teaching, singing, and playing the piano. She was known as a true musician who loved God and showed her dedication throughout her 70 plus years in the music ministry. She was active in her community, hospitable, and enjoyed cooking for others.
She is survived by one son, Victor Lowe and wife Sharon of Pine Bluff, AR, one daughter Cheryl Lowe-Wade of Pine Bluff, AR, one brother, William Wallace of Atlanta, GA, one sister Ruth Craig of Milwaukee, WI, two grandchildren Fredrick O'Neal Wade and Callie Janean Wade, nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 28, 2025, from 5:00-6:00 P.M. at Cromwell Funeral Home. Services will be Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church on Dr Martin Luther King Jr. Drive with Reverend Curtis Jackson, Sr. officiating. Pallbearers are Bobby Jackson, Glen Newton, Tony Allen, Ray Lewis, Larry Dawson, and Marcileno Reed. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
