Obituary

Mrs. Elsie Marsiel Wilson, 83, of Fountain Hill, AR, died Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Drew Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Lacey, but a resident of Fountain Hill most of her life. She was a homemaker, a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church and was member of the Order of The Eastern Star, Golden Star #380.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd & Ruth Spencer, her step-mother, Doris Spencer, four brothers: Raymond Louis Spencer, Floyd Spencer, Jr., Donald & Eugene Spencer. Elsie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, singing and helping others. She served as City Councilwoman in Fountain Hill for many years.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Willie Earl Wilson, one son, Reggie Wilson, wife Marilyn of Hamburg, AR, three daughters: Shirley Duckworth of Fountain Hill, AR, Beverly Simpson, husband Roy of Monticello, AR, and Shalane Jenkins, husband Sammy of Hamburg, AR, three brothers: Marvin Spencer, Sr., wife Marie of Warren, AR, Lecester Spencer, wife Althea of Sacramento, CA, James Edward Ware of Monticello, AR, three sisters: Alice Ferguson, husband Henry of Exeter, CA, Peggy Withers, husband Johnny of Chino, CA, Patricia Nalls, husband Melvin of Exeter, CA, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, two special friends, Bobbie Jean Miller, Novella Dunum and a host of nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends.

Funeral services are Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 11:00 am at Bethel A.M.E. Church with Rev. Jesse Washington and Presiding Elder James Hooper, officiating. Active pallbearers are Gregory David, LaRon Simpson, Clarence Daniels, Jerry Simpson, Reggie Wilson, Jr., and Dexter Jenkins. Honorary pallbearers are the Stewards and Trustees of Bethel A.M.E. Church. Burial in Lacey Cemetery.
